YOU CAN’T QUARANTINE THE HUMAN SPIRIT ✨BE THE LOTUS FLOWER 🌸

There’s a deeply ingrained (innate) ability in us to come together as ONE universe in order to see the good and LIFT ONE ANOTHER UP. Just because negativity seems louder, that doesn’t make it true. The good will always shine more powerful than the bad — when you cultivate a healthy perspective. We each have the capability to transcend barriers and walls via our virtually-connected world we live in today.
Nothing replaces live, in person, interaction --- I get that. But WOW do we each have a lot to be thankful for. I believe this concerning madness TOO will pass and beautiful repercussions will uproot from this ugly situation...like the Lotus Flower!

Lotus Flower (n):

Unique flower that rises up from the mud, dirt, & murky waters into a beautiful embodiment of victory and transformation

In light of the current repercussions of COVID-19, I decided it could be a good idea to collaborate with other amazing ChicaBloggers who are also struggling with mandatory self-isolation.

I'm so excited to share what these like-minded, amazing ChicaBloggers have to say on the following topics: Keeping your "creative juices" flowing, staying productive, managing new opportunities, etc. as a Blogger and Content Creator under self-isolation.

So, let's do this, Chica!

001. Start gardening.

Sahara of the Plant Based Living + Wellness Blog Sahara Aloe Vera says "Spend time in your backyard gardening if you can! With the potential of food shortages in the future, growing your own food could be more useful than ever. Getting your hands in the soil microbes has proven to be a powerful supporter of mental wellness."

002. Get creative with props & take fun pictures inside.

Belle Taylor a Fashion/Lifestyle Blogger & Photographer behind IsabelleQuinn.com (@isabellequinn) says "I've been having fun taking creative portraits inside. You'd be surprised how many fun things you can do playing around with objects you already have in your house. Set up a tripod in front of a blank wall and see how many fun pictures you can take using the things around you!"

003. Create (and share) DIY's.

Bout Khang the Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger behind Bout Khang suggests that you can "do DIY home decor ideas with everyday items! Or, you can share tips on taking photos inside for other fashion bloggers.” We are here to lift each other up, right? Let's get to sharing more than ever during this complicated time.

004. Enjoy the outdoors around your home.

Victoria DeBrito the Travel Blogger & Photographer behind Tori96.mypixieset.com says "Being at home, going on walks for photoshoots, etc! Enjoy the outdoors (when you can) in this quarantine state we’re in now". If you're able to be near home and spend some time outside (distancing yourself from other people) --- do it. The fresh air is so therapeutic.

005. Revamp your business plans.

Tiffany Brown the Fashion Blogger behind Tiffany Fashion Tips recommends "spending time on new business opportunities". Brainstorm and think up new business plans that you can pursue. This pursuit definitely keeps you highly motivated, productive, and confident in your future business growth.

006. Detox your home products.

Salpie Markarian the Lifestyle Blogger behind House of Mark shares that you should "take advantage of this down time of self isolation to detox your home products. Know your bad ingredients and try to avoid them as much as possible." Salpie says, "A very helpful site I use to plug in the brand names and check the rating is Environmental Working Group (EWG)." Salpie goes on to share her how to's by saying, "My advice is if you plan on detoxing everything in your life is to start from the smaller things. Once you finish a conventional product such as a bottle of Windex (bad stuff), look into purchasing one that is safe and meets all the safety guidelines. Once you do that with every product that finishes, you’ll be on your way to a safe and detoxed home.” So insightful!

007. Write a letter.

Monica Harmon the Lifestyle Blogger behind Young and Broke (but still thriving!) suggests writing a letter! Monica asks, "When is the last time you wrote a letter to someone?" Think about that question. She goes on to say, "Well, if you have relatives or friends who live in other states or countries, write them a heartfelt letter and send it over. I’m sure receiving a handwritten note from someone would boosts anyone’s mood during these crazy times.”

008. Spend intentional time on hobbies.

Samantha Warren the Self-improvement Blogger behind SamanthaWarren.com says "Bloggers and content creators are always moving fast. Our work is never done and we face constant challenges as creatives. My self-isolation activity idea is about taking time to slow down and do something creative just for fun. For example, trying a new, creative hobby like drawing, painting, pottery, or crocheting. It feels so liberating to create without worrying about the pressure of running a business, getting page views, or perfecting sales funnels. To relieve stress while we're stuck at home, let's make stuff just for fun!”

009. Practice self-love & improve your content.

Elizabeth Rose the Mindset Coach & Mental Health Blogger behind EllaRoseDesignMaui.com shares, "I’ve been working so hard to do self reflection and educate myself. It’s so crazy trying to do everything and be everywhere, so take this time to self reflect, practice self love and build your business with less distractions! Take advantage of the opportunity to learn and grow your mind and yourself! Xoxo"

010. Mediate on what makes you smile.

Annette Geiger the Education & Design Blogger behind Life Is an Adventure-Take Detours shares, "I’ve been a remote freelancer for 10 years, so self-isolation isn't as difficult for me as it is for others. However, being so far away from my daughter and mother is (at times) overwhelming, even for me --- an outgoing introvert. Here’s what I am doing to not just survive, but to thrive...

First: STOP reading everything about the virus, take a look once a day to learn what you need, then move on.

Next: Look for those things that make you laugh and smile. Write down at least three things each day that made you smile. Read it when you are feeling blue.

Then: You can start on that project you’ve been meaning to do but never seemed to have the time. Mine is launching my new business Elite Content Creation!

Finally: Reach out to people each and every day. Say hello, check-in, tell them you love them. I can guarantee if you are having a hard day, someone else is, too.

Bonus tip: If you need to cry, I suggest a sappy Hallmark movie!

This is an opportunity to reach our virtual hands around the world and support each other in our own unique way. Together, we will thrive!”

Can I get an "Amen" Chica?!

011. Connect with like-minded Creators.

Cristina Reina the Travel Blogger behind My Little World of Travelling shares, "Take advantage of the time to connect with other bloggers in your industry. Build up relationships, support each other, and look for potential collaborations. Update your travel bucket list. Research and read travel blogs to come up with a new travel bucket list --- to keep you entertained and positive about traveling in the future." You can communicate so seamlessly now via video chatting platforms such as Zoom, Facebook Messenger, or Marco Polo. The capabilities we each have to stay connected & grow is a blessing we should not take lightly.

012. Play board games & journal.

Simone Phillips the Mommy Blogger behind 11 Years of Nappies says, "Our family have planned to play board games and most importantly we each are going to have a journal on the 21 days of lockdown --- in order to share our day(s) and our feelings. I think its so important to allow our kids to share their feelings because it's a scary process for them.” I so agree with Simone. Opening up the opportunity to communicate with one another on what we are truly feeling is essential (for mental & personal health).

013. Get to know your followers/audience better.

Tanya Taylor the Travel Blogger behind Travels and Treasures shares, "Engagement is valued highly in IG, so I’m creating engagement cards for [my] followers. There are 24 cards and each one asks a question. It can be posted on a feed, but also works really well with [Instagram] stories. The objective is to get to know your followers and have fun. I am offering subscribers a 12-pack of engagement cards. I have a sample on my IG feed and stories now --- @ttaylor2u2."

014. Learn a new skill.

Kelly Clark the Mental Health & Personal Development Blogger behind Budding Joy says, "While we are in this time of uncertainty and isolation there are several things we can do to still stay productive and on track. One of the biggest activities we can do while we have the time is to learn a new skill, or even earn a new certification. Other tasks would be planning out content, experimenting with new trends, and even getting together, virtually, with other content creators."

 015. Get organized & skilled on the technical aspects of blogging.

Jessica Earner the Mommy Blogger & doTERRA Guru behind Sweet and Spicy Essentials shares, "Staying home doesn’t mean you can’t explore new things. While I know that people might not be searching and reading blogs in their typical manner (right now), eventually life will return to normal. Take this time to get organized and skilled in the technical aspects of your blog. SEO, keywords, social media marketing and creating a more cohesive brand."

BONUS!!!

016. Tackle Your to-do list.

Sam Gravener the Self Care & Personal Development Blogger behind Here I Mum Again shares, "For me being in lockdown has meant breathing space to tackle my to do list. Without the everyday stress of appointments and school runs, I’m finding more time to focus on clearing the backlog of my ‘to dos’ that have built up. The ‘I’ll do that at some point’ list. Suddenly we all have a lot more time to relax, slow down and think about what we can get done without pressure. It’s keeping me sane and breaking up my days!"

Sending so much love, hope, encouragement, and peace your way, Chica.
